WHAT IS CHRONIC KNEE PAIN?

Unlike temporary knee pain, chronic knee pain rarely goes away without treatment, and it isn't always the result of a single incident, such as an injury or accident. It’s most often the result of several causes, conditions or diseases. Most commonly, chronic knee pain will present itself as a constant ache, a sharp, shooting pain when in use, or dull burning discomfort. Patients also experience chronic swelling and pain when the knee is touched.
